careers in photography

lacie hayek

My name is Lacie. I am a photography student at Owens Community College, and editor of Arts and Entertainment on the Owens Outlook Newspaper.
I have  recently become interested in photojournalism. Originally, I was a music major, for many years before studying photography. I've studied the arts at the Toledo School for the Arts and the French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts in Hancock, NewYork.
I first became interested in photography at French Woods Festival in black and white film and the love of it grew from there. Being at camp my lens found its place in the arts. My first  photos were of the circus, musicals, horses, and dance everything besides sports. The arts for me is home it's where I fine the most joy in life.
One day I hope to write and take photos about music and the arts in a newspaper or magazine.

Time management

What I will do differently for time management is stay off of Facebook and any other social media website including netflex. Only stay on one computer at a time to be focused. I will write out lists and everything I need to do. also to be more organized even if it means to be color coded.
I will try working in two to three hour batches to help with my tasks. To identify my creative hour I will need to work in a bubble and not get distracted by looking at lists i mad. The key is to take baby steps to get everything done, maybe not everything at once but in steps to lead to the final product. If I can not get everything done, letting someone else do the work may help when being overwhelmed. most importantly track my time so i don't spend all my time on one thing.

A2 more blogging

What I have learned in this exercise is that answering a questionnaire to contemplate my career is invalid and a waste of my time. Its made by people who sit at a computer with nothing to do trying to tell others there life in a career. To save these answer is another waste of time, it has nothing to do with my business or a business plan for future references. To keep writing to fill words to make 200-500- blog is exhausting on every assignment is a waste. You cannot make something interesting if it isn't. Again why do we write about every little thing when we can put two sentences together and be done. This is what I've learned in A2.

A4

Avoiding business mistakes all photographers make was interesting. starting out with rates to low can be bad. photographers who show up unprepared to an assignment without gear failure backup plans are not good. as for the photo shelter guide i don't feel it was helpful to read.
